April 2022 Edition

It's April & our patch is no longer bare soil.

It's sparkling with colour from blue forget-me-not flowers.

We began to remove cow parsley as it can overcrowd the other plants.

We then planted new wild flowers such as...

Garlic mustard which  orange-tip butterflies lay their eggs on.

We also sowed seed into separate planters to see what wildflowers grow.

We went in search of butterfly eggs with local expert Jeff & found ...

a brimstone egg on a buckthorn leaf.

Jeff also showed us great prominent moth eggs that he was raising.

We also saw speckled wood butterflies.

We then decorated new scrapbooks which we will fill with memories.
