This checklist is designed to help charities and community groups prepare strong, successful funding applications. Funders often require specific documents, policies, and evidence of impact. By reviewing the list below, you can identify any gaps and take steps to strengthen your organisation’s funding readiness. This will save time, improve your chances of success, and help you build long-term sustainability.

• Registered charity number (or CIC/company registration if applicable)

• Up-to-date governing documents (e.g. constitution, articles of association)

• Active and diverse board of trustees or directors

• Conflict of interest policy

• Latest annual accounts (audited or independently examined)

• Recent management accounts (last 3–6 months)
